Today we’re talking about the hymn "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today." It is a joyful song we sing at Easter.
Did you notice that we hear the word Alleluia a lot in this hymn? It means Praise the Lord!
This hymn was written by Charles Wesley, and it is full of celebration and joy - like a victory song! That’s why we keep singing “Alleluia!” many times.
The Bible says, “Thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:57.
This means Jesus won! He is stronger than sin and even death.
Jesus is alive - and He has victory!
Because Jesus won, we don’t have to be afraid. We can have joy, and we know God is powerful.
Because Jesus has won the victory, we can live like Him by being loving and kind and following Veritas and Actio!

Following this historical thought, the Lower Choir sang the hymn "The Lord is My Shepherd."
This historical thought was delivered by our Grammar School students at devotional on 3/26/2026. Each week one class leads the student body in prayer, the Pledge of Allegiance, scripture recitation, a meditation, and an historical thought. Belmont family and friends are welcome, Thursdays 8:30-9:05 am.
