Gratitude for God's Creation

On Thursday, September 24, the primary school led the weekly Belmont devotional. They shared a poem about God's creation of the Earth (text included below), led by their teacher, Mrs. Gorrell. Afterwards each student shared their favorite part of the creation story and their own illustration of that event.

"First came the light and the darkness.

second came heaven and earth.

Third came the water and dry land

and every good seed of worth.

Fourth came the sun, the moon and the stars

Fifth came the fish and the birds.

Sixth came the beasts ruled by Adam and Eve;

God's power is too great for words!

Day seven, God blessed it,

And then He rested."

Afterwards, the grammar school choir sang the Doxology, a hymn that invites all of God's creations on the Earth and in the Heavens to praise Him.

At Belmont, we start each day honoring and remembering God through prayer and study of His word in the Bible. As a classical school, we celebrate the good, the true, and the beautiful. As a Christian school, we recognize that all of these blessings come from God and we thank Him for them.
