We are reading Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. The author loved animals and thought they were special. In the chapters we are reading, Charlotte shows us friendship, kindness, and helping others.
The book is about a kind spider named Charlotte who loved her friend Wilbur, a little pig. When Wilbur was scared, Charlotte used her special gift of spinning webs to show everyone how amazing he was.
She thought of others before herself. Her friendship and care made a big difference in Wilbur’s life.
The other animals reacted in different ways. Some, like the motherly goose, showed compassion, while others, like the ram, were mean. We see how our words can help or hurt others.
The spider was small in size, but had a big impact. Some of the words Charlotte spun into her web were, ‘Some Pig,’ ‘Terrific,’ and ‘Radiant,’ to celebrate Wilbur and draw attention to him.
Her messages made Wilbur and the barn famous, and many people came to see the webs, believing they were miracles.
Even though Zuckerman enjoyed Wilbur’s fame, he still planned to slaughter him. Charlotte kept finding new ways to help, showing courage and love through her actions.
We haven’t finished reading the story yet, but Charlotte already teaches us that our gifts, words, and actions can make a real difference. Like Charlotte, we can show friendship, kindness, and love in everything we do.
